Spring

Spring is coming. I know it. I can feel it in the air, the jitter of insects crawling, the caw of birds shouting the awakening of spring, the sprint of deer have gotten longer, my hops are quicker, faster as I hide among the grass, away from predators. The air is crisp, unlike winter and autumn; it is warmer and shoots of new seedlings sprout up to the warm sun. Wind ruffles my fur and wakes me from my thoughts, pulling me along to fulfill my observations.

In the unfrozen lakes, I can see the swans are once again swimming, gawking at the sight of me, a rabbit, hopping around already. Cattail brushes my fur as I pass by the pond, going up to the stream, my curiosity increasing. Foxtail tickles my nose as I see small fish glide past me on their flippers that splash water into my face.

Twitching my whiskers, annoyed, I lick my paw and sweep it across my cheek, trying to get the moisture off my already shedding winter coat. I then gazed up, staring at the puffy, white clouds that will not bring flurries of snow but droplets of water to embrace the plants, and smiled quietly before bounding back towards home; this was yet to be another great season.
Special Thanks to Alina for the Idea =)
